Resolved iMessage expert needed

I use iMessage on my iPhone and iMac. When I create and send a message on either device that message shows up on both devices. But when I delete a message on one device it doesn't dlete the message on both devices. Is there a setting I'm missing? I don't want to have to separately delete on both devices
