I’m not sure what Apple are doing with iMessage, but is their a lot of background work still being applied?!

I don’t always get notifications, the edit and unsend is temperamental. Keep getting iMessage unavailable messages even though I’m connected to WiFi and the receiving party is to.

I can only hope that it improves once iPadOS and macOS become available as using iMessage across these devices isn’t great at the moment either.

Also, people without ios16 are getting frustrated by the new ios16 specific iMessage features.
 
Are you sure the notifications aren't just getting hidden on lock screen? (see lock screen notification hell thread)
 
No they just come through when like feel like it. They are nowhere to be found. But if open iPad or MacBook I see them there.
 
Try turning iMessage off on all devices and the iCloud sync for iMessage. Reset Network Settings on the iPhone. Then turn it all back on, on the iPhone then other devices.
