Hi all,

Sorry, I am almost a complete newbie here but I was wondering if someone can offer some help with a really odd iMessage issue.

The issue that iMessages are not working, in one direction, solely between two particular iPhones - I cannot send them to my girlfriend's phone.

Basically:
  • I do receive iMessages from her phone
  • I can successfully send iMessages to any other iPhone
  • She can successfully receive iMessages from any other iPhone
  • We have tried with both phones side by side in front of us - I instantly get a "delivered" note next to the message, but they simply don't turn up - however long we wait.
  • I can send SMS messages and calls to her phone, so my number isn't blocked

(Just pre-empting the jokey answers - as above, we've checked the number isn't blocked and we've checked it with both phones there, so yes I'm sure she isn't just ignoring me :) )

Any advice gratefully received!

Thanks!

Things to try (retest after each step!)

1) Restart both phones
2) Both of you sign out of iMessage on your iPhones and ALL other iDevices. Once you're signed out on all iMessage accounts, sign back in.
3) Give this thread a read in case there are other things you can try...

Thank you for replying so quickly - will give those things a go.

Also, great spot on the other thread on apple - maybe this is a specific issue that only affects people with Dan in their name (and their partners...)
