iMessage lag El Capitan

Hi everyone,

For some reason, on my Late 2015 iMac Retina, iMessage will lag (beachball) like mad and really delay my messages when trying to type them. I've got 16GB loaded into this beast, and it's a new machine. Why is this? It worked like a charm on my Late 2012 iMac.

Opening and closing does nothing to help, nor does a reboot. All other apps are fine.

Thanks for any input. Am running 10.11.2.

Are you sure your internet connection is working fine ? I can't see any beachball using iMessage on my MacBook on 10.11.2

I've had the same internet connection since upgrading my iMac this month, and it seems to have started doing this since the recent .2 update. Nothing about my connection has changed, and it was running very well up until very recently.
