My first Dual SIM iPhone was the XS Max, since the upgrade to iOS13 it gave me an option in iMessage of which of the phone lines I wanted to send my iMessage from. Continued to work up to iOS14.2 fine.
I have now upgraded to a 12 Pro Max, restored from a backup and the option is no longer there.
If I go to iMessage settings, both phone numbers are there and I have the option of choosing which number to start new conversations from, but obviously that's not the same as having it in the app itself.
I've attached a screenshot from https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT209044 showing how it's supposed to look in iMessage (and what I used to see) but for some reason I just don't get the option on this new phone.
Tried Apple Support, they just told me a contact my carrier. As it's two different carriers I think they just don't know what it is.
Any ideas?
