Hi. I have an iPhone, an iMac and a MacBook Pro. I am finding it impossible to keep the 3 devices in sync with iMessage. Im not 100% sure but I think it is just the iMessages not standard SMS that are not syncing properly. I have several iMessages from the last week that are on my iPhone but not showing on the iMac or MacBook Pro. But some are synced, that's really odd.
I have tried turning off iCloud, clicking "Sync now" in settings. Im not sure what else to try.

Many thanks for any help

It would help if you included all of your messages settings on each device as well. It's hard to troubleshoot without knowing those details.

Are you following all of the setup steps in this article?

The first thing to check is make sure all 3 devices are actually logged in to your iCloud account. The Apple ID needs to be the same on Mac (Messages> Settings > iMessage tab > Apple ID) and your iPhone (Settings > Messages > Send & Receive? Make sure your iCloud acc is listed). And then double check that Messages is ON for iCloud syncing. If all are logged in, try logging out of iMessage and back in one by one.

If that still isn't working, compare which device is out of sync. It might help to post screen shots of the settings for each device. Just make sure you blur out or hide any personal info before posting.

Yes all the steps are correct.

All 3 devices are logged into the same iCloud account. I think the problem is with the iPhone as both Macs are not receiving all messages.

I have found issues with my iphone version @ 16 and my ipad still being on 15. Sometimes I will get a message on the iphone that I don’t see on the ipad. Ever since I upgraded my iphone deleting a message on the ipad will never sync the delete to the iphone.

I'll take your word for it that they are all logged into the same account and that you've taken all the other steps suggested. I also assume none are on any Beta versions of their software. If so, that is likely the culprit. I was on the 16.1 beta and it wasn't syncing but fixed when I moved to the beta for iOS and MacOS.

Might be time to call Apple support to see if there might be a technical issue on their end.

Hi yes I will call apple and see what they suggest. Thanks
Did you get this resolved? I’ve got the issue now. I’ve just just erased my iMac, laptop and iPad and they are still downloading messages from ages ago that I’ve deleted off my iPhone..

driving me crazy
