Hi all,

I suspect this is something that is intended, but maybe I'm just slow to catching it, lol. Updated my systems today to Catalina, fresh installs. All working perfectly, zero issues.

I've noticed that if I am using iMessage and conversing, the audio notification tone hits my Mac, but doesn't notify on my iPhone. I suspect this is intended because I'm on my Mac already? It knows to not double PING me? Can someone confirm this for me? Come to think of it, I'm not getting the audible ding from my iPad either. If I check my iPhone, I see it on my homescreen and everything though...

Thanks!

I'm getting the same thing as you but I'm still on Mojave on my iMac Pro. I have iOS 13.1.2 on my iPhone, iPadOS 13.1 on my iPad Pro and WatchOS 6.0.1 on my Apple Watch.

My wife has been complaining for a long time (since iOS 12 came out) that notifications don't always alert her on her iPhone 7. I've noticed it too since iOS 13 came out. The only way we've been able to get notifications to work at all is to disable iMessage and revert to SMS.

There's another bug and that's repeat alerts don't work at all. There's a long thread about that on the Apple Community forums. Depressingly, someone posted on there that the bug remains in iOS 13.2 beta.

Apple have seriously dropped the ball in recent years. It used to be that their stuff "just worked" but it doesn't seem to be like that any more. It massively dents ones confidence when they can't get the basics right.
