iMessage notifications silent for some conversations

Hi,

I have an iPhone 12 and the notifications for some iMessage conversations are silent (they appear on the Lock Screen, but there's no sound or vibration). The volume on my phone is maxed out, notification sounds are enabled for iMessage and the "Hide Alert" tab is disabled for all conversations. How do I fix this? I keep missing notifications.

Edit: Ok so I actually just got a notification making a sound from one of these conversations. But just this once. Now it's back to silence.
