I've been trying to sign in to the two apps using my apple ID since getting my new iPad. Everything else works fine and the screen is gorgeous. What could be wrong? Appreciate any help thanks.
 
Hmmm... I'm not sure why you'd be getting that error message.
But over the last 24 hours, I've been having problems with my iMessage too..

Could be something up at Apple?!
 
Erm it doesn't actually says error but I just can't sign myself in. The message received for both apps when I try to sign in is "Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again." Everything else including my wifi connection is fine. Anyone else getting this?

Probably has something to do with their servers being overloaded with the release of the new iPad. I can use iMessage on either my iphone 4s or my iPad 2. have not yet tried facetime.
