For those that have ios6, how's the performance? On io5 it can tend to be slow sometimes.

For me, it depends on my network speed. Messages will take forever to send if I'm on a slow network, but if I have a very strong signal with a fast connection, Messages are instant to send.

But it has been like this since iOS 5, for me at least.

It does a way better job handling messages between iPad and iPhone. For example, if you start your conversation on your iPad, that will buzz first before your iPhone and your iPhone won't go off for about 5-10 seconds even though it too received the message. This is so that you don't have two devices going off simultaneously I think. Also it seems like they've done a much better job of handling the removal of notifications from each device if one of your devices read it.
