Sorry, not sure what forum to post this in ...

I'm going to be traveling out of the US soon ... will it be possible to send iMessage texts from Europe to the US and vice verse over wifi for free?

Yes. (assuming, of course, you're in a place with free WiFi ;))

excellent.

we will have free wifi in all of the hotels

one more question, if you don't mind ....

say I send a text from iMessage over wifi to someone that doesn't have iMessage .... can I text back and forth with them for free?

ATT wants a lot of $$$$ for international texting.

thanks again

Get Hangouts for your droid friends,
iMessage for your iPhone friends.

Make sure you disable your cellular, fallback to sms, leave in airplane mode... or even better, pull the sim card and leave at home.

No - you can only use iMessage on WiFi to other iMessage users, not to a phone number not linked to an Apple ID.

There are apps that do SMS texting over WiFi. I have TextMe, but I have minimal need for an app for this. There may be better ones out there.

Also many people use WhatsApp or Skype for messaging.
