If I send an iMessage to my wife, she gets the notification on her watch, reads it and dismisses it...it does not mark the message as read. It still shows as just "Delivered" to me, even though she did read it.

Now, I could see if she did not dismiss the notification that it wouldn't mark it as read. If she dismisses it, that means she knowingly took an action on it and it should mark it as read.

Anyone else find this behavior weird?
 
You technically can read a message on your phone by reading the notification, without opening the Messages app, which then triggers the "read" notification.

I'm thinking she is getting the notification on her watch, but not opening the messages app, thus causing this behavior? Seems in line with iOS but I don't have first person experience.
