Hello everyone

I mistakenly deleted one important contact's entire iMessage thread.

If I restore from backup, would all my apps contain old data?
I am ready to buy backuptrans, but is it good and dependable solution?
I checked other applications, but they are all very expensive.

Is there any better solution for this problem?

Do you need to have the text messages on your phone?

I used a free Mac app to extract text messages from iPhone back-up files yesterday. I had to buy a licence to export the messages to PDF files, but the viewer let me select the texts... So I just manually copied and pasted the text messages to Word files.

I forget the name of the app, and I'm not currently at home. If you want, I'll let you know about the app later in the evening.

Thanks for your reply.
I just do not need to have the message in my computer.
I want them back in my mobile phone.
And I am a Microsoft Windows user.

Correct. All your Apps' settings and saved data will go back to the state of that back-up. So, before restoring from back-up, make a manual back-up of all those data/files. After restoring from back-up, move those recent data/files back to the apps.

How to restore the recent data back to the iPhone ?
If i restore the latest backup, then, imessage would again be deleted na?

Where did you back up your iPhone? iCloud or iTunes? If you backed up your iphone on iCloud, I can't help since I have no experience with iCloud back-up.

In case of iTunes, plug in your iPhone to your computer. Open iTunes, and then click on your phone icon (depending on the version of iTunes, it will be either on top right or top left). And then click on "restore backup" button. Then you will be asked which backup you would like to restore from. By default, the most recent backup should be selected. Click Ok, and then restore process will begin.

If my description is confusing, please watch YouTube video for visual instructions.

If you restore backup from most recent backup, then yes, all your recent messages will be deleted. However, you are recovering all the messages saved on that backup (including the messages you lost).
