on the iPhone in iOS 5, you just pull the keyboard down to hide it.

Yep, slide down the keyboard in iOS 5.

Yes it does. Just tested it. IOS5 sorts you out with the pull to hide keyboard like I sais

That's what's always bothered me. You have to go through several inelegant steps just to hide the keyboard like backing out to the message list and then opening the conversation again. It should have just been a matter of tapping in the conversation window to hide the keyboard. I'm glad that's fixed now.
