iMessage setting for notification of name mention won't stay selected past application quit

When selecting "Notify Me when my name is mentioned" in iMessages preferences gets unchecked after the program is quit, so I have to reset it each time.

This is a brand new clean install of Catalina.

Anyone else have this issue?
