iMessage showed typing dots while charging

Last night while texting with my boyfriend I took a break to shower and charge my phone. I came back to a "hey babes, you there?" text and he was confused, because apparently while I was in the shower he said he started getting a message from me (the typing dots appeared) but then the message never showed up. How is it possible for this to happen while my phone was charging and I was nowhere near it?? Should I be worried about some kind of hack job? (I live alone so no one else could have possibly typed it)

Has this happened to anyone else??

The 'typing dots' as you refer to them aren't always 100% accurate.

ah ok.. I got a little worried for a sec! Going to tell him it was probably just a glitch!

You probably left your Messages app open with the keyboard up, which will sometimes trigger the typing dots on the other end of the conversation.
