iMessage showing Contacts I deleted?

When I go to text or iMessage when I start typing a later my iPhone is showing contacts and old numbers I deleted ages ago, does anyone know how to fix this? I back up my computer to my desktop, not iCloud. But I do have contacts turned on for Gmail and iCloud.

Can anyone help?
