iMessage signed out and won't sign back in

Hello,

I was out of town for about 2 weeks and iMessage signed itself out while I was away. I am now unable to log back in.

I went into preferences where I noticed it was "inactive" so I signed out and attempted to sign back in and it said something about a network error.

I then quit the app and restarted it and every time I hit sign in, it says an error occurred during authentication. I haven't changed my password and iMessage is fine on my phone.

Any ideas?
