iMessage stopped working on iPhone5

Since last Friday my iPhone 5 (IOS7) has stopped sending texts via iMessage, instead it sends them as normal texts. iMessage works fine on my MacBook (Yosemeti) .

Can anyone please suggest a way of rectifying this please?

I was having a similar issue where nothing would send, even as text messages, I backed up my phone and restored to factory and then restored the backup and everything was working as normal.

Check and make sure you have Date & Time on "Set Automatically". This has happened to me before.
