I can’t seem to find the answer to this seemingly simple question: does iMessage on the watch sync across my iCloud devices?

Say if I delete a thread on my watch will it also remove that same thread from my iPhone? Do I have to be on wifi for it to sync? At the moment it’s not happening for me.

Thanks.

I have always had to remove messages per each device, so in other words no it does not sync. You would assume it should, but that's never been the case for me.

Unlike iPhone, iPad and Macs, the watch does not fully sync especially with SMS which dont sync at all. If you delete an iMessage from your phone it should delete off watch but not vice-versa.

This has always been the case apparently - a bonkers decision by the tossers at crApple!

Oh and WiFi doesn’t matter.

That should to be the case if Messages in iCloud is enabled on all devices. iMessages should sync across everything both ways (again apart from watch)

For whatever reasons the iMessage/SMS sync is half baked on Apple Watch. The only time I get to work it, is if I delete a message from my Mac - regardless if it is iMessage or SMS, it will delete it from my Apple Watch. If I do the same from my iPhone, the message will only get deleted from my Mac, but not Apple Watch. I have no idea why, but that is how it works. If I delete anything from the Apple Watch, nothing get deleted anywhere else.
