So Cal
I don't like to use iMessage and always had it turned off on my old phone. I sent a text earlier from my new phone and it went through as an iMessage, so I turned it off. However now it will not let me text that one person via SMS... it shows iMessage in the typing window. I tried closing texting and re-opening but it will not let me text this person unless I turn on iMessage?

Hi, I have a similar query. Let's say I've texted XYZ via iMessage, and then gone to an area where there's no wifi nor cellular data range.. Will I still be able to text XYZ via regular SMS text, then??

I think you'll have to start a new message thread with that person. But seriously, green text is for losers...

There is a setting with iMessage on you can enable to allow you to do this.

How do you start a new message thread? My experience with the blue is that the replies did not always come back to my phone. Sometimes to my iPad, which I don't always have with me. I guess if I have it disabled on my iPad this can not happen?
