Hey guys,

I know specifically apple said in the press release that we can use iMessage via wifi or 3g...

Just wondering for those with the ios5 beta, can anyone try what happen when we lose the 3g network and only 2g network available?

Will the iMessage still work for chat or it will be totally disabled?

Thanks

Generally when they say "3G" they just mean mobile data...there would be no reason you couldnt send text messages over 2nd gen data networks.

Yes i found it strange too if apple would really means 3g as in the real 3g network and not possible to use 2g network at all for the iMessage...

But it would be awesome if someone with access to ios 5 beta to test if using 2g network will disable the iMessage data and fall back to sms only :)

Thanks in advance
