iMessage Woes (not syncing properly)

So the other week, all my iMessages on my MBP disappeared.

Since then, I disabled and reenabled iMessage on my laptop.

Now, if I'm having a conversation on my phone, the imessages stay there and never show up on my computer. If I have the conversation on my computer, the imessages never go to my phone. They are completely out of sync.

Now I have a conversation on each device with the same person that are completely different - this is horrible, because if I'm texting someone on my computer, close my laptop, and then go to my phone, I don't get their replies.

Help?!?

This doesn't just happen with one person - it happens with all my contacts.

we can delete this thread - my phone number was left off of iMessage which was the problem.

unless someone can tell me how to get all my disappeared imessages on the macbook pro backk...
