iMessages Bounces for no reason.

Does this happen to anyone else, when I open my laptop from clamshell sleep, the iMessages app on the dock bounces uselessly...

BTW, I keep my iMessage app open constantly so I am always online. Is this a problem that anyone else is experiencing?
