iMessages disappearing???

Hi,

I upgraded to Sierra yesterday and used iMessage on it for the first time this morning.

First noticed that messages typed on my iPhone were not appearing on the MacBook.

Later after I started up the MacBook all the messages I sent and received this morning had disappeared from the MacBook, are are showing on my iPhone - except for two links I sent which have vanished from both devices.

The iPhone is a 4 with iOS 7.

Anybody know why this would happen?
