Hey all, im running ios6.something jailbroken on my iphone 5, and had a question about imessages. My mom brother and sister all have ipads that they imessage me from using their appleID, and they have either android or non-smartphones. Ive kept the imessage contacts separate because if i want something to go to either their phone or their ipad i know for a fact itll work, my question is, is it safe to combine their contact info? I know webOS was pretty good about this, but for some reason i dont trust Apple with getting this right, since all they want is to push imessage

Yes indeed it's safe to combine the contacts.

iMessage will detect the diff between SMS & the Apple ID used for iMessage. If you pick their number, it will be SMS and if you pick their Apple ID, it will be iMessage from the same contacts.

Neat little command I've learned for these types of contacts with Siri.

Example:

"Message Amanda, bootycall tonight?" - it will be compiled and sent as SMS via cellphone number.
"iMessage Amanda, bootycall tonight?" - it will be compiled and sent as iMessage via her Apple ID.
