iMessages not being delivered

Has anyone noticed that their iMessages are not being delivered/received? I have been noticing that the past couple days. The affected phones are:

Me: iOS 8.0.2
Intended correspondents: Mac OSX 10.9.4 / iOS 7.1.2

It seems a bit sporadic but my messages are delivered, however, their responses do not show up on my phone.

Have you tried turn off, then on, message in settings?

haha that's my favorite computer advice....have you tried turning it off and on again.

And make sure you are logged into iMessage on both devices with the same account. I found mine was logged out after I updated to 8.02 on my ipad.

I tried it on my end and the messages did not show up.

Well, this is happening when I message other people. So, we're using different accounts. On their end, the message says delivered. On my end, it never shows up.

Check this. If you aren't logged in, you won't see iMessage messages sent to any address but your phone number. IMessages sent to an email only show up on your phone if you are logged in with the correct iCloud account.

You stole my thunder. iPhone works differently than iPad/Mac.
