In a van down by the river
After wiping my Series 6 and installing WatchOS 8 and pairing with a fresh wipe of my 13 mini, I have noticed that iMessages I get from other iPhone users is received as a white text bubble instead of blue. Has anyone else seen this before?

it's that way on mine

I think received messages are always white
only your messages change color for SMS/iMessage
(it's the same on the phone)

looking at image search for "watchOS 7 messages" it seems they're white there too.

Thanks for the reply. I can’t believe I didn’t notice it before. Lol it seems to stand out more on iOS 15.

That's the way it is for everyone, whether on Watch, iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Incoming messages are white, outgoing messages are in color (green for SMS, blue for iMessage). They might have chosen to make it the opposite (color for incoming, white for outgoing), but the basic logic is to provide an obvious contrast between incoming and outgoing messages.

I think what threw me off is the cooling and text in WatchOS 8 looks different (at least to me) with iMessage and made it stand out more and made me think something was wrong when it wasn't.

Thanks for the replies, gents.

Just curious, how do you like WatchOS 8? I upgraded to iO15 yesterday and was happily surprised how well it performs. No bugs that many are complaining about are effecting my phone and am wondering if I'll be just as happy with OS8
