I'm running El Capitan, and today my computer crashed when I first launched the imessage app. It crashed while it was in the process of synching the message that were sent/received from my iphone while my mac was off. I had to force quite the app, and now, one of my threads is missing some messages.

I deleted my users/username//library/messages folder and restored it from a TimeMachine backup that was made last night, thinking that when I relaunch imessage, it would sync all the messages from today, but it doesn't seem to do.

I'm not sure how exactly imessage synching works, but maybe it works by timestamping when the last sync occurs in a file other than the ones in the username/library/message folder, and since the iMessage server sees my Mac was synced today, it doesn't try to sync again?

Any possible solutions?

Thanks for your help
