iMessages Waiting for Activation After Find My Phone Erase!

So I gave in my phone to a local guy for repair a few days ago and after I did forgot that I had some sensitive information one it and I didn't wipe it. So just to be safe I used the erase feature on icloud.com/find.

Now I have the phone I restored it from a back up I had but iMessages and FaceTime are still saying waiting for activation.

Any ideas?
