Im on vacation in Europe, I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 6 with AT&T. I am using iMessaging as my main form of communication with my boyfriend who is back home in the US, he also has an iPhone 4 running iOS 6, but he is with Verizon. I have turned off all cellular data, data roaming, 3g, etc. I am in airplane mode all the time and use Wifi whenever it is available to iMessage. Since he is back home in the US, he uses his 3G to iMessage me. So my question is, is he being charged extra since I am abroad? Or is it no different to us iMessaging when we are both in the US? Thank you!

No he is not being charged extra. It is the same whether you are both in the US or not.

Thank you very much for your quick reply! I was worried that he would be racking up a bill! Also, can pictures be sent over iMessage just as well?
