Happened to me twice in the last week. After sending a message to a contact, he didn't get it for 10 hours or so. Again today same thing happened with my contact receiving it after 8 hours. Meetings got delayed and a few people got pissed off. I've switched off imessage and decided to use only SMS since it never fails. Personally it has never failed me in the last 10 years or so.
