iMoive Library vs iMovie Events?

I'm consolidating / deleting files and have notices that both iMovie Library and iMovie Events folders have essentially the same files at the same size. Are these redundant or am I missing something?

The iMovie Library file is for iMovie10. The iMovie Events file is for iMovie11(v9). If you still have both versions and use them(as I do) then you need to keep both.

When you used iMovie10 for the first time, it would have imported files from iMovie11, which will explain the similarity between the two. However, if you use iMovie11 again, the data won't get copied over.
