So i'm trying to edit some video down to 60 seconds. I started using imovie 08 but i found the interface structure so poorly made it was slowing me down. and i wanted to use some effects so i decided to start the project in imovie 06

all the footage was shot in 16:9

so i'm editing it and removing files as needed but one file got most of it deleted so i tried to reimport it from the location i imported it from and now it imports at 4:3 and all the video that was in there has been converted to 4:3... I do have original backups, but i want to know why, how to i reimport it back, all the other files in the project show up in widescreen format.

this is the frist time i've really used imovie and i have to say how dissappinted i am, i think they are both terribly designed pieces of software. it isn't clear waht is being affected or not, i don't want the original files touched in anyway, in 08 if i clip something it just finds and instance and doesn't touch anything, in 06 its the complete opposite which makes it really hard to make different cuts. Anyway i'm trying to do this quck so the sooner i get a response the better

thanks
