I have just gotten started with digital video. So I am pretty confused still with different codecs/export settings. I am not happy with what I am getting using iMovie. I plan on buying FCE sometime, just not how soon. In the meantime I would like to get good exports from iMovie.
I have a Canon HF M30, shooting in 1920x1080.
iMovie seems to make the graininess and video noise worse. If I view the initial imported file and then the same file exported from iMovie it looks way worse.
What are some setting to change to get the best quality files? that look as good as straight off the camcorder into my HDTV.
Can you give me a step by step from import to export? What are the best steps to get the footage on a DVD and have it not look pixelated and grainy when viewed on a TV?
