iMovie 08 exporting problem

Hello,

I imported a .avi file in iMovie and made a flashy movie for school on it instead of the boring one I made in autodesk inventor. However when I export it to youtube (or to a file for that matter) I get a still frame that gets stuck whie the audio plays...

It plays fine in iMovie with preview. Am I missing something?

After spending a total of 50 mins on the phone (also including a question on warranty policy) I found out that it most likely the codec of the .avi file. IMO they should have a message that it's not supported when imported though :s
