i have a WD external hard drive with 2 firewire ports. one is connected to my Sony DV camera and the other to my macbook pro...but imovie 08 it won't let me save to the external hard drive!!!!!! i dont want to save footage on my macbookpro then transfeer to the hard drive. i want to do it directly. I WAS ABLE TO DO THAT EARLIER WITH ILIFE06!!!!:confused:
help me please

This is a shot in the dark since iMovie 08 won't work on my old Powerbook G4 but with iMovie now running with a library, won't you have to define a location for your iMovie library on the external drive before you can put video there?

I'm assuming if it worked with iMovie 06 then the hard drive is already at HFS+ rather than FAT 32 etc?

well yes, when i connect my camera...to the hard drive and then to the compuer it only gives me the option of saving to my internal hard drive and my external wont show up on the drop down menu
