I am trying to create an opening title sequence in my first serious imovie project. I want to have opening credits cut from black to the actual video, but I want to keep the original running audio playing the whole time behind the opening credits.

Any suggestions you can provide would be awesome.

Thanks

Options for editing audio are very limited in iMovie '08. I can't think of a way to achieve the kind of mix you're after in iMovie: all it alows you to do is adjust the fade out time. What I would do is export from iMovie at full quality, then open GarageBand, drag and drop your QuickTime movie into GB, edit the audio there, then export at the resolution and quality you want. iMovie is lacking in the audio department, but GB actually works pretty well with it.

There are ways of getting around the problem using GB and IM08, but you'd probably find it more satisfying if you used IM06 or FCE4
