Hi,

I have several movies in iPhoto 08 (mpeg's and mov's). When I open iMovie 08, he doesn't import the iPhoto Movies... and if I go to file -> import movies is not accepting mov ou mpeg files (show them in grey when I try to import them).

How can I import my iphoto movies to imovie?

Thanks all

I'm having the exact same issue, any ideas?

The mov files are from my camera, and seem to play fine in Quicktime.

I posted the same issue in apple discussions.. They think it's a bug..

Bah stupid bug.. I know this is release "1.0" for iMovie 08 but this type of bug my god.. they don't test the software after build it ??

Very sad day for iLife 08. So much problems... I'm installing back 06. Have anyone found a way to import quicktime movies made from iPhoto08? iPhoto 08 also can't play the whole playlist in iTunes. I had to combine 5 songs in gargage band, anyone had the same problem?:(

.AVI could be anything though... and why not .MOV? From my library iMovie doesn't import below 640x480px

imovie 08 importing movies from iphoto 08

we figured it out....close all applications, open iphoto, select the movie clip or clips (individually, one at a time) and move it or them to the desktop. close iphoto. open imovie, rebuild thumbnail and import the clip or clips from the desktop. yeah, it worked.

I have this problem too but the solution given doesn't work.
I now have some mpeg movie files on my desktop that I still can't import into imovie.
Any suggestions?

Hii. I know we have 09 ilife now..But ive still got 08..Is this problem fixed on 09 Becasueee its realllyyy anoyying,? If so , is it worth upgraddingg??
Thankss:)

The trick!

I had the same problem. If I exported the file, I got an AVI file
that iMovie would not import.

But then I simply I dragged the movie directly from iPhoto to iMovie.
I dropped it in the event library, on "new event", and presto, it worked....

IMPORTING MOVIES FROM iPHOTO TO iMOVIE

AFTER IMPORTING MOVIES TO iPHOTO FROM YOUR CAMERA, IT IT SO EASY TO GET THEM INTO iMOVIE. TITLE NEW EVENT IN iMOVIE. OPEN iPHOTO ON RIGHT SIDE OF iMOVIE SCREEN. FIND YOUR MOVIES. DRAG MOVIE TO TITLE OF NEW EVENT. IT WILL HIGHLIGHT. DROP MOVIE. IT WILL DOWNLOAD. DRAG TO PROJECT. THERE YOU GO!

iWork 8 is very different from the previous iWork.
You bet it is not the same. It is a learning curve.

Back to importing movies from G4 iPhone to the iMovies...

The guy previous to me was correct.

Closed all apps. Browser ok to leave open.
Reopen iPhoto and iMovie... the videos/mov will all appear in iMovie automatically. No need to drag anything. It will just appear.

Good Luck.

Thanks

Was having the same issues, I have learnt to run imovie at the same time when importing them of camera but these posts have shown me how to do it and am very grateful as I have a few stored in iphoto and wondered how I was going to get them off. So Thank you to all for advice.
