I have managed to import video from a camera and: either the camera settings were not what I thought them to be, or something happened in the iMovie import.
The problem is that the video is currently stretched; the current format is 16:9, but the footage should clearly be in 4:3, because everything is stretched short and fat. I have tried to change the aspect ratio in Project Properties, but in the export it does not stretch the widescreen back to 4:3.
Can iMovie 08 fix this problem, or do I need FCP or Premiere? Is there another application that can do it? I know the problem is a bit ridiculous, and the solution involves doing exactly what we try to avoid doing to video when converting between formats...
Any ideas?
