iMovie '08.....thumbnails for EVERY video?

I'm new to Macs, so maybe I'm just ignorant on the situation. When I start iMovie 08 it asks if I want to generate thumbnails for the ALL of the videos in iPhoto. Is there anyway to just generate the thumbnails for the videos you WANT rather than for ALL of them?
