iMovie '08 to iMovie HD

Is there a way to export all the clips from iMovie '08 to iMovie HD? I know how to do it the other way, which I did, but then I realized how much I liked iMovie HD better. Now I want to switch them back which I can't do.

If you navigate to your Movies folder in Finder and then Select your iMovie Events folder you should be able to navigate through each "movie" and drag and drop the video files to iMovie HD.

It won't open them in iMovie HD. I tried both the rendered and non-rendered clips. I feel like I have two of each clip and it's taking up tons of space in iMovie '08. Is this true and is it different from iMovie HD? It seems like iMovie HD just has the clips hidden in the project, and it's not taking up as much space.
