I'm trying to decide whether to use iMovie 08 or HD 6 for a vacation video. I've dabbled with both, but have not spent much time using either. The "movie" will consist of about 2/3 still photos and 1/3 non-HD video. I want the movie to look good if I put it on a DVD and show it on a large screen TV.

I was ready to use '08 (shorter learning curve, don't need some of the features of HD6), until I saw where someone wrote, "iMovie '08 is processing DV with half of resolution." So I am wondering: will an '08 movie end up with less resolution than an HD6 movie made from the same material???? If so, will the difference be very noticeable on a large screen TV?

Are there settings (in either program) I should be concerned about, in terms of maximizing resolution?

Thanks!
