Hi guys,

What would be the best format to export video in iMovie 09 using quicktime when the source is NTSC DV format?
Something that wont take as much space as DV AVI, but still looks very good.

Thanks.

If you have the patience to wait for it to encode, H.264 is probably the best output option. You can mess around with the export setting to get a bitrate that balances file size with quality.

If you have a slower Mac, try just generic MPEG-4. You'll sacrifice some quality but the export process will be much quicker.

Spot on.

vimeo.com recommends 5000kbps for 720p (1280x720) video you upload to their site, and that's worked pretty well for me.
