iMovie '09 format question

Hi,
I am looking to buy a new camcorder (toshiba camileo pro HD) and was wondering if the files it would record would be readable and editable in iMovie 09. According to many websites the camcorder shoots in MPEG4 H.264. Is that a compatible format for imovie to handle?

I don't have that particular cam but my Samsung records in H.264 compression and works fine.
