iMovie 09 problem with cloning using the green screen effect

To all the computer peeps out there, I'm trying to clone using the Green Screen effect in iMovie 09... and it works just fine with my built-in iSight (webcam), but with my Canon Vixia camcorder it just leaves me with a ghost of myself ... and yes, I've tried cropping it all different ways, layering it every different way, and nothing seems to be working! HELP ME!!
