iMovie 09 Stabilization Artifacts

When I export my movie from imovie 09 using the quicktime option i get alot of blurriness and artifacts(during portions of the video that were shaky) no matter what settings i choose. if i use the imovie standard export movie option it comes out as expected, smooth and crisp. has anyone else noticed this?

I've only just started playing with this, but yeah, I think you are correct. I made one video without any stabilization and it exported via Quicktime fine. But then I did another with stabilization enabled and it looked pretty horrible when exported. Tremendous artifacting and color banding.

when you exported that same movie with there standard Export menu(Command - E) did the same video look fine?
