Hi there!

I've been using iMovie to work on a project. I was using iMovie 09 on a late 2007 white MacBook. I've recently got a new MacBook Air which has iMovie 11 on it. I copied all my project folders and events across, but for some reason my new MacBook won't play any AVI clips I have (which played fine in 09).

In iMovie 11, they don't show up in the events and in the projects, you can skim across them but in the preview window, nothing comes up. I tried to re-import them but they're greyed out. In the folders themselves, I can only hear the audio when I try to play them in QuickTime.

On recommendation of a friend, I downloaded something called Perian, which is, as I understand, a plug-in for QuickTime with codecs I don't appear to have. This allowed me to watch the videos in QuickTime, but I still couldn't see them in iMovie! :(

I've searched around online, but I'm not quite sure what's wrong here. I'm guessing the new iLife doesn't support the type of AVI I'm trying to use anymore?

Any help greatly appreciated!
