iMovie '11 won't open?

I got a mac OS X version 10.8.4 last September with iLife '11. With this new computer I've never been able to open iMovie '11. When I try it loads for a bit and then I get a message saying "iMovie quit unexpectedly". On my previous computer I had iMovie 8 which transferred over to the new computer and works just fine but 11 won't work. Help? Thanks

Does it also happen in another, even temporarily created, user account?

everything is up to date and it doesn't work on another account as well

Have you tried deleting "com.apple.iMovie.plist" in Macintosh HD / Users / YOU / Library / Preferences / yet?
