imovie 2011 issue, help?

hey all

using imovie 11, i have a late 2009 imac with 12 gb ram for some reason i was editing clips fine today on imovie and then suddenly when i tried to edit a clip it just wont let me, i can do everything else, play the clip etc import etc but no clip adjustment

does anyone know why this is? how to fix this? my computer isnt freezing uup nor does it go slow, dunno what the deal is
